Interested in painting the town red… and green and blue and yellow?
StopGap Foundation’s Corporate Team Building program is a hands-on experience that offers organizations a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community in which they do business.
There are a number of ways that staff volunteers can be involved in our Corporate Team Building program – from going out into their community to talk to business owners about their single-stepped entryway to painting ramps. We’ve seen it all and it’s been fun for everyone every time. We have adopted a model somewhat like Habitat for Humanity whereby the participating organization provides a donation. With the funding that we receive, we are able to provide ramps (at a discounted rate!) to business owners in a chosen community courtesy of the participating organization.
We are always willing to customize the experience to suit your needs, desires, and budget!
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and get you and your crew involved!
*Please note that like much of the world, our operations have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are taking the recommended precautions and our small team is currently working remotely or taking a pause to ensure that we can get back to ramp requests and community-based accessibility and inclusion education, events and activities as soon as we can.
We hope that we will be able to restart our in-person team-building and volunteering in September 2020, but please feel free to reach out if you’d like to plan or book in advance, noting that response times may be slower over the Spring & Summer!
Testimonials from some participants!
A positive impact on the community
Quadrangle has long admired StopGap and when the opportunity to get our hands dirty in the shop came up, we jumped at the opportunity. Haley Rae and Velanie were a pleasure to work with while Luke was as charismatic as ever and let us pick his brain about design solutions and how he grew his organization. Our team had a great time prepping ramps for distribution to businesses, residences, and cultural institutions across the province. If you are looking for a fun activity to do with your team or friends while also making a positive impact on the community, I highly recommend doing a Paint Day.
An incredible time laughing and learning and painting
I wanted to extend my thanks to the StopGap Foundation for inviting us in for the day to help paint ramps. It ranks as one of my best days of the year. The kindness, generosity and compassion of the team is evident in everything they do: from providing information to me and my fellow volunteers about the mission and value of StopGap, to instructing us on the best way to paint (there’s a technique!), Velanie, Haley Rae and Luke were equal parts patient and fun, and I had an incredible time laughing and learning and painting. Thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of the StopGap mission for the day!
Making a true connection to the community
StopGap was an incredible experience. I learned through Luke, just how inaccessible places can be. What he did about it is truly inspiring. These ramps are custom built to accommodate many spaces, sizes, and placements. The program is making a true connection to the community and businesses who can now welcome all customers through the use of a StopGap ramp. Working with the team and painting the ramps felt great. I can’t wait to mention StopGap to any business I come across that does not have a ramp.
