Volunteer FAQ

Considering volunteering at StopGap Foundation? We’d love to have you! During National Volunteer Week 2024, we put together a list of frequently asked questions about volunteering:

What’s the time commitment like?

We know you’re busy! That’s why the time commitment we ask for is super flexible. We have a roster system for our volunteers, so when you sign up, let us know which roles you’re interested in and your availability. When we need volunteer support for each role, we’ll reach out to see if you’re available. Whether you want a consistent volunteer gig, or can only spare a few hours every few months, we’d still love to hear from you!

What kind of volunteer opportunities are there at StopGap?

Painting ramps, delivering ramps, helping us set up and tear down events, graphic design, photography and videography at events, and community outreach! If you have skills that aren’t listed here, we’d also love to hear from you about how you’d like to volunteer.

What kind of graphic design would volunteers be doing?

Some potential ways we’d love to work with graphic designers:

– Designing StopGap merch
– Helping us make a pamphlet or brochure
– Creating graphics for social media
– Designing a poster for an event
– Working with us to improve the design of our volunteer/outreach handbook

Whether you have a lot of time or a little bit, we can work to find a project and timeline that fits your schedule.

Can high school students volunteer at StopGap for their volunteer hours?

Definitely! We’re happy to sign off on volunteer hours.
